3D Stockpile Modelling and Management

QMASTOR’s 3D stockpile module provides significantly greater accuracy, functionality and granularity when tracking bulk materials parameters compared to other various 2D/algorithmic models.

3D stockpile modeling provides all the benefits of QMASTOR’s stockpile and inventory management module as well as:

  • Advanced, accurate stockpile modeling – including functionality for:
o Stacking - know precisely what material has been stacked where.
o Reclamation – model a variety of different physical stockpile storage and reclamation methods including silos, storage bins, bucket wheel, underground valve, and bridge reclaimers.
o Zoning Methods - 3D zones can be created to simplify reporting and blend calculation and also enable the classification of “live” and “dead” zones on a stockpile pad reflecting the areas which a reclaimer can physically reach with the dead zones often requiring dozing to enable effective reclamation.
o Recalculation Service - automatic and transparent model recalculation and regenerates the model as required.
  • 3D Stockpile Visualisations – enable detailed analysis of the internal structure and composition of stockpiles and stockyards. Surface topographies and internal block structures are visualized in contours, cross-section, long-section, quality/grade and comparison charts.
o stockpile visualisations are rotatable and cut throughs in multiple planes enable viewing of internal stockpile structures.
o Views of underneath and flyovers of stockpiles enable appreciation of their relative positioning to yard equipment, meterages, northings, rail positions, reclaim valves and other key sign postings.
  • System Integration
o Integrate to existing plant and mobile machinery providing real time data retrieval without the need for expensive hardware components.
o Often through stacker/reclaimer, process plant or loadout SCADA or historian systems, QMASTOR automates the collection of weightometers, on-line analysers/laboratory analyses and material handling equipment positions and operating parameters.
o Essential to capture the vast amounts of data required to accurately model the many stockpiles that can be located within a large bulk commodity stockyard.
o QMASTOR’s range of software solutions can be seamlessly integrated with one another.
  • Reclamation Planning – know what is actually reclaimed versus the forecast or prediction of what will be reclaimed.

With benefits to geologists, mining managers, technical services managers, quality/grade controllers, plant metallurgists, logistics managers, bulk terminal managers, trade finance/accountants and marketing managers, QMASTOR’s 3D stockpile modelling and management module provides the foundation for effective commodity operations, logistics and trade management.
