Welcome to TRACTION. The intent of this newsletter is to inform clients and shareholders of what is happening at QMASTOR and provide updates as to events, success stories and product developments. In this edition: record contract secured with Rio Tinto Coal Australia; new website launch; SMS3D.net product focus and upcoming exhibitions.

Company Overview

QMASTOR is a market leader in the provision of specialist management information systems and services to the global mining, port, power generation and bulk commodity industries. The company is listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX:QML) and is a longstanding Microsoft Certified Partner. 

QMASTOR systems have been in operation since 1987 and currently manage over 270 million tonnes of global bulk commodity movements per annum in coal, iron ore, nickel and bauxite for clients including BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto, Xstrata, Peabody Energy and Anglo American.

Record contract secured with Rio Tinto

QMASTOR has signed a major contract with Rio Tinto Australia for the provision of its Pit to Port.net and SMS3D.net systems for installation throughout Rio Tinto’s coal operations in Australia. This is the largest contract secured to date by QMASTOR with a record revenue value spread over three years.

QMASTOR will provide Rio Tinto with a complete end-to-end supply chain, quality management and logistic solution for their four large coal operations in Queensland and four operations in New South Wales.

At each site QMASTOR will install Pit to Port.net to provide:

  • Pit to vessel supply chain management

  • Inventory tracking, blending and grade control

  • Despatch planning, forecasting and reconciliation

SMS3D.net will be implemented to provide advanced three dimensional stockpile management and modelling on plant feed and product stockpiles.

New QMASTOR website launched

QMASTOR's new website contains an information rich platform covering all facets of the business including corporate and investor relations, a news centre with RSS feed, and detailed information about our products, services and solution offerings. Included within the  site is a portal for users to register and download financials, brochures, case profiles and free applications. QMASTOR newsletter recipients are encouraged to peruse the new site at: www.qmastor.com. 
 

Product Focus: SMS3D.net

SMS3D.net is an advanced management information system used in bulk material stockyards to track and dynamically model stockpile tonnage, grade and value in real time.  The system enables proactive grade management and optimises process plant configuration, blend planning and reclamation/load planning.

SMS3D.net is used to optimise the stacking and reclaiming of a stockpile to provide users with assurance as to what is actually reclaimed versus forecast/prediction of what will be reclaimed.

The system is currently being utilised by some of world's largest resource companies and has demonstrated ability to provide significant reductions in out-of-specification quality penalties.
